Job Summary:
The Recreational Therapy Aide implements and coordinates therapeutic activity programming for the adult inpatient population. Assists with evaluating and establishing individualized treatment plans. Under the supervision of a recreation therapist, documents the patient’s progress towards goals and treatment in the medical record.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in an acute psychiatric setting preferred.
- 6 months of suggested experience in caring for mental health patients in an acute inpatient setting.
- A Level One Fingerprint Card is required.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider card and current CPI certificate, or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age group served on the unit.
Job-Specific Duties
- Provide care to psychiatric and mental health patients.
- Perform assessment, documentation, treatment planning, and group and individual therapy treatments.
- Assist with planning and implementing the unit’s activity therapy program, including:
- Planning daily events and special events
- Providing in-service training for other staff participating in the activity therapy program
- Conduct activity therapy group sessions and individual sessions as needed, using sound group principles and techniques.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of the unit’s activity therapy program.
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC Phoenix roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC Phoenix in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
